Twined rugs are made by wrapping or twinning material the vertical pieces (warp) of fabric on a loom. This rug is made from new cotton / cotton blend material for both the warp and the weft (material running horizontal that is twined).
A lot of hours go into making a twined rug --- 8 to 10 hours for me to make a rug 26" x 16" --- but that's nothing compared to the years of enjoyment you will get out of a twined rug.
Twined rugs are very sturdy, lay flat and should last for a very long time. This rug is machine washable. Lay flat or hang to dry.
