Twined rugs are made by wrapping or twinning material the vertical pieces (warp) of fabric on a loom. This rug is made from new cotton / cotton blend material for both the warp and the weft (material running horizontal that is twined).
A lot of hours go into making a twined rug --- 8 to 10 hours for me to make a rug 26" x 16" --- but that's nothing compared to the years of enjoyment you will get out of a twined rug.
Twined rugs are very sturdy and should last for a very long time. This rug is machine washable, lay flat to dry or drape over a chair or railing.

We are loving it. Using it as a bath rug in a monotone, small bathroom. Its colors pop delicately to the eye. Being barefoot on it feels good. Beautifully made. It looks just as in the pics. Looking forward to see how it breaks in overtime and after the first wash.
